Jonathan Rhys Meyers is fineness defined.
He's the new face of Versace. These ads were taken by the famed Mario Testino. My favorite photo has to be the one with the glasses. He looks so sultry and smoldering.

outfitting: right on target with paul & joe
Esprit Navy Blue Dress:
- @ Marshalls
- The navy blue color, the high waist and the slight pleating of the skirt makes this dress look as though it came from the closet of a little girl attending an all girls academy. I love it! I think the next time I wear this dress, I'll pair it with a peter pan collared shirt and without a belt.
Wide Striped Belt:
- $0.79 @ Baras Thrift Store
- I told you I had tons of belts.
George White and Gold Chain Necklace:
- $9.97 @ Wal-Mart
- See Playing with Bits of Gold
I just bought a ton of clothes and I feel great! Although my wallet begs to differ. To celebrate the launch of the third installment to Target's Go International line, Paul & Joe designer Sophie Albou (who was this adorable woman in a summery P&J lace dress and despite being from Paris, had a California tan and platinum blonde locks) hosted an evening of private shopping at a temporary (30-day) boutique on Melrose Place. The pop-up boutique featured all of the P&J designs together at one time and all in one place. I had complete access to the entire collection four days before its release in stores! I was ecstatic! Plus, champagne (served in Target glasses) and delicious hors d'oeuvres (caviar!) were being passed out as I shopped. All the fashionistas were gorgeously dressed. Not only was I perusing the clothes, I was also checking out what everyone else was wearing.
I ended up purchasing: Short-Sleeve Jersey Polo in Ebony, Short-Sleeve Pintuck Woven Top in Classic Ivory, Cap-Sleeve Ballerina Thermal Screen Tee in Juicy Guava, Wool Multi-Plaid Poncho, Owl Pin, Turtle Pin, Large Multi-Plaid Owl Purse, and Chunky Cashmere Poncho. I love the peter pan collar of the two tops and the owl and ballerina prints are so fresh and playful. The ponchos exemplify the quintessential Parisian gal. Even though the temperature was at least 85 degrees, the wool sweaters and handbags were disappearing like hotcakes. The workers had to constantly refill the shelves and racks. The P&J collection felt elegant and grown-up, while still having that girly and feminine quality.
Celeb sighting: Kristen Bell (cute as pie), Ali Landry (gorgeous!), Blake Lively (super sweet), Kimberly Stewart (why are her boobs touching her chin?), and Heidi from "The Hills" (Bolthouse Productions produced the event, so shouldn't she be working or something?). And yes, there was a gift bag: P&J brown tote, Target blank greeting cards, and a Target compact.
As I write this, the only remorse I feel is not buying everything I wanted. So when I get paid this week, I will head to Target to get: Ripe Berry Twist-Front Dress, P&J Logo V-Neck Sweater, and White Belted Leather Jacket.

outfitting: world premiere of la suite
Ezekiel Strapless Plaid Dress:
- From the Dean
- I like the sweetheart neckline of this dress. It's one of the most comfortable dresses I own. Dean is the best!
Vintage Pink Leather Cinch Belt:
- $1.25 @ Baras Thrift Store
- This belt is like a mini tuxedo cummerbund. The design and material is masculine, but the color makes it undoubtedly feminine.
Pink and Purple Wood Dangle Earrings:
- $1.99 @ Urban Outfitters
- I love these earrings! I'll post a better picture soon. They are chunky, but not heavy at all.
Leather Clutch:
- $1.95 @ UCP Thrift Store
- This clutch is super roomy. It also comes with a strap.
We just attended the world premiere of the short film "L.A. Suite" at the Roosevelt Hotel. It stars Olivia Wilde and Enrique Murciano. It's touted as an examination of the nature of fantasy, anonymity, and escapism in hotel life. All 12 minutes of it was pretty boring. They screened a few other shorts and my two favorites were “Phone Tag" and "Rabbit." "Rabbit" was a dark animated kids cartoon and "Phone Tag" was about a guy trying to get back with his ex. That one was hilarious! After the screening there was a reception at the Tropicana Bar poolside. The best part of the entire night was the yummy mini burgers and mojitos! In the gift bag: "L.A." Suite DVD, four music cds, an issue of RES magazine, coupons for yoga classes and tanning. No personal celeb sighting, but Alanis Morissette and Samantha Mumba were there.

outfitting: monkeying around at the zoo
Free People Stitched with Love Tunic:
- $48.00 @ Macy's
- My favorite part about this tank is the adjustable straps that can be buttoned to be crisscross. The embroidery detail and the eyelet pattern of the straps gives the tank a feminine, bohème feel.
Hurley Bermuda Shorts:
- @ Marshalls
- These shorts and I go way back. They're comfortable, casual and matches with practically any top!

We took Britannia to the World Famous San Diego Zoo for her 7th birthday because she loves animals. It was fry-an-egg-on-the-sidewalk hot! Even the animals were seeking shade, which turned out to be a good thing because we got to see them up close and personal. Amongst all the animal antics we observed, the highlights had to be monkeys "piggy-backing" and a rhino peeing in the very same puddle he was sipping from.

i have a new boyfriend
His name is Pharrell.
This ad is freakin' hot! Seriously, Skateboard P is yummy. The Pharrell Williams-Louis Vuitton campaign drops in August. Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss will also be part of the campaign, but it's quite obvious that P is the star! I guess with the huge success of his sunglasses line with LV (I still want me a pair of "Millionaires"), Marc Jacobs knew better than to let a superstar go! Louis Vuitton Don indeed.
Here he is performing during Myspace's The List presents Pharrell & Friends concert on the rooftop of the Arclight on Monday July 17th (photo taken by yours truly).
He brought all of his closest friends: Snoop, Luda, Clipse, Lupe Fiasco, Slim Thug, and T.I. It had to be one of the dopest hip hop all-star concerts of the summer!

outfitting: swinging in tara jarmon
Tara Jarmon Milky Way Colorblock Sun Dress:
- $34.99 @ Target
- I was so excited to get this dress and now I finally have it! I gave up looking for the dress in my size (the Tara Jarmon and Luella lines for Target run smaller than actual sizes), until I was on a random trip to Target and Megan found the dress (that fits me) hanging in the lingerie section. Yah! The cotton material is thin, but that's expected from the price tag and besides, the weather has been over 100 degrees so the lighter the cotton the better. This is definitely a babydoll style dress, where the bust is tight, the waistline high, and the skirt very full. On some figures, it may look a bit like a maternity dress. I feel the diametric opposite of a pregnant woman when wearing this dress. It feels very youthful, innocence, girly, fresh and romantic. I like the princess neckline cut and the vibrant colors, especially the bluish-grape.
Vintage Blue Elastic Belt with Gold Buckle:
- $1.25 @ Baras Thrift Store
- Because the dress is from Target and sold out everywhere, I figured there are about a gazillion gals strolling around the nation in the exact same dress. Therefore, I wore the dress with this belt to give it an obvious yet simple change.
- See Polking Around DDCLab
Light & Dark Blue Beaded Necklaces:
- @ UCP Thrift Store (Light)
- $1.00 @ Baras Thrift Store (Dark)
- The contrasting shades of blue of these necklaces really complement each other. These necklaces are both necessary and frivolous-exactly as jewelry should be.
H&M Metal Bangles:
- @ H&M
- See Playing with Bits of Gold
Bronze Clutch:
- $1.99 @ Goodwill
- I like this clutch because it has a streamlined look and along with his shiny metallic color makes it feel very elegant. It's the perfect size to carry my wallet, phone, and camera.
Xhilaration Gold Ballet Flats:
- Kidnapped from Annie
- Hopefully, Annie will not notice that I've had these flats for almost two months now! They're sooo comfy and easy to slip on and off.
- See Monarchy Tuesday
For all the dirty minds out there, I am not sitting on a sex swing! The swing is part of the Spider-Man section of the Comics Exhibition at the California Science Center. The exhibition was pretty lame and definitely not worth the pricey admission. I did have fun with Emil and Kayla though.

daily outfitting: say "hi" to gemma
Tramp Blue Polka Dot Wrap Dress:
- $16.99 @ Marshalls
- I love the periwinkle blue color and dots are hot. The puffy sleeves give the dress a vintage feeling. I bought two other Tramp dresses along with this one last week because you can never have enough summer frocks.
BP Nordstrom Lace Chain with Wooden Heart Earrings:
- $10.00 @ Nordstrom
- See San Diego County Fair
Gold Leaf Bracelet:
- @ Rampage
- I like this bracelet's Grecian-inspired design. It's very elegant yet simple. I'm able to pair it with this casual wrap dress, while a few weeks ago I lent it to Donna to wear for her prom.

- $29.99 @ Marshalls

Brown Quilted Chain Purse with Gold Trimming:
- $3.00 @ Boys and Girls Club of Venice Thrift Store
- This purse is gorgeous, but it looks bulky with too much stuff inside.

daily outfitting: i eats me spinach
A&F Blue Striped Short-Sleeve Button-Up Shirt:
- @ Abercrombie & Fitch
- It's hard to see in this picture, but this shirt has thin blue and khaki stripes. I've had it for a long time. I think it's one of those classic shirts that can be dressed up or down and will be forever in season.
Hollister Co. White Ribbed Boy Tank:
- $12.50 @ Hollister Co.
- See Sunday Palms and Fleas
Multi-Bead Necklace:
- $1.99 @ Urban Outfitters
- I like the gold strawberry pendant on this funky necklace. This is another item that I couldn't resist because of the price tag. I should really try to constrain myself from making these kinds of purchases.
White Stag Blue Sailor Shorts:
- $1.00 @ Baras Thrift Store
- I lovelovelove these shorts! I feel like Popeye, the Sailor Man wearing them. All I'm missing is can of spinach.
Sperry Top-Sider White Boat Shoes:
- @ Ross
- I've never been sailing, but that hasn't stopped me from rockin' these preppy sneaks. One day, I will don them while on my sailing getaway to the Hamptons.

daily outfitting: it's playtime! jump, jump!
White Headband:
- Free gift w/ purchase of St. Ives Medicated Apricot Scrub @ Wal-Mart
- Free is good. The headband has already lost most of its elasticity though.
Chaus Sport Red Jumpsuit:
- $1.00 @ Baras Thrift Store
- I know wearing a one piece jumpsuit is a bit of a fashion risk, but I love the cuteness and convenience of an all-in-one. And for only a buck, I thought, "Why not?" This jumpsuit is more fun and sporty. I want to find one that's more fancy and girly, kind of like the ones Jenny Lewis rocks. I love her voice and fashion style.
Red and White Heart Earrings:
- @ Wal-Mart
- I might have picked these up in the kid's section. They're like Valentine's for your ears!
abercrombie Knee-High Socks:
- @ abercrombie
- These socks are great for baseball, soccer, roller-skating.... and jumping! I feel like I should have grass stains or dirt smudges on them.
Airwalk Argyle Slip-Ons:
- @ Payless (borrowed from Donna)
- Payless has definitely upgraded since I was a kid. I can't wait to get my hands on the Abaeté collection when it hits Payless stores this September (see Abaeté, Viktor & Rolf for the Fall). These argyle print sneaks are cute and cheap.

Broadway Star Flower Print Dress:

- "Right outta Betsey Johnson" - !Kimberly. I couldn't wait to wear this dress after I bought it. I love the fabulous fit and how it gives me a nice silhouette. The hippie inspired flowing flower print fabric is colorful and fun. This dress is makes me feel happy and sexy.

Vintage Anne Klein for Calderon Black Patent Leather Clutch:

Donna's graduation outfit courtesy of yours truly:
Cherry Print Dress:
- $8.00 @ Ross
- I really wanted this dress to fit me, but because my baby sister is skin and bones I bought it for her to wear during her high school graduation. I love the vintage-inspired style, especially the dainty cherry print.
Red Belt with Shell Buckle:
- Free from Baras Thrift Store
- More free belts from Baras! I have a very large collection of belts thanks to this store.
Red Necklace:
- Borrowed from Megan
- Megan got this necklace in the free bin at the Christian Closet. She wears it whenever she wears red bows in her hair.
Zoe & Sage Tortoise Vintage Sunglasses:
- From Adore Shop Soiree and Fashion Show Gift Bag
- I think these shades are way too oversized for my round face. It looks cute and Nicole Richie-esque on Donna though.

Mint Green Dress:
- $1.00 @ Baras Thrift Store
- Without the belt, this dress is a nightgown. It goes to show that something as simple as a belt can totally change an article of clothing from something that can only be worn in the house into a fab summer frock. I like the color contrast between the warm mint and bold purple.
Purple Belt:
- Free from Baras Thrift Store
- The Baras near the Sports Arena is one of the best thrift stores in San Diego. The man that works there is extremely friendly and they always have the best deals. I always walk away from this store with something great! I got this belt for free the day I bought 10 items for only $10.
Loop Transversion Mountain Straw Tote:
- @ Marshalls
- I love the appliqués on this Japanese-inspired mountain scene bag. The jelly leaves and sequin flowers are unique and fun. The straw material makes it a great beach tote for the summer. I've had this bag for so long now that the white flowers and the inside lining have become dirty. I'm not sure how I should go about getting it cleaned.... any ideas?

Blue Babydoll Dress:
- @ Marshalls
- I don't know who makes this dress since I tore off the tag because it was scratchy. I found this dress in the lingerie/pj section. I love the low-cut neckline because it gives off the illusion that my boobs are bigger than they really are. I also love the bold blue color.
Express Black Leggings:
- @ Express
- Many people hate leggings, but I like them. You'll see me in them often. I think solid colored leggings are best. I find that the printed leggings are a bit too much and are on the edge of tacky if not already there. Leggings shouldn't be the center of attention in any outfit.
Xhilaration Blue Shells and Pearls Earrings:
- @ Target
- These earrings are 'under-the-sea' certified and thus perfect for summer. These earrings remind me of the movie "Aquamarine" and how I want to be mermaid. Things mermaids have that I want: nail polish that automatically changes to fit my mood, long flowy hair, suck-up starfish earrings that whisper compliments in my ear, a constantly perfect tan, and the power to make storms whenever I'm pissed off.

Tara Jarmon White Tank with Pintucked Voile:
- $16.99 @ Target
- The cami rope straps and the pintucked, ruffle-trimmed empire bodice are great details that set it apart from other tanks. This is yet another Tara Jarmon French-inspired item that I've added to my growing collection. This fall, Paul & Joe are teaming up with Target! I can't wait to get my hands on that stuff.
Brown Leather Belt:
- @ Urban Outfitters
- This belt actually came with a fanny pack, but I took it off because the fanny pack looked too cluttered with this outfit. I like the milky caramel color of the belt, which matches perfectly with my earrings.
To The Max Trouser Shorts:
- @ TJ Maxx
- I have an affinity for bright-colored shorts as displayed in this outfit and here. The fabric of these shorts is stretchy, light and heat-friendly, which makes them comfortable to wear during the summer.

Cee Lo of Gnarls Barkley was checking out the contents of the celeb gift bags and suddenly noticed these shades and said, "I really like those frames!" I offered to trade them for his gift bag. I couldn't finalize the deal because he was quickly ushered away, but I bet he's big-time regretting that he doesn't own these sunglasses.

Tara Jarmon Racerback Tank in Light Heather Grey:
- $11.99 @ Target
- Part of the TJ Summer Love Collection, this tank paired with the skirt is ooh-la-la adorable. The colors of this tank make it girly chic while the racerback cut makes it sporty tomboy. The tank is pretty thin, so it can be layered on top of another shirt. I opted to go with the lighter grey to accentuate the skirt's waistband. I think the darker grey blends in too well with the skirt.
Luella Puff Sleeve White Tee:
- $14.99 @ Target
- See Playing with Bits of Gold and Easter Sunday
Tara Jarmon Colorblock Skirt in Pink Chimes
- $29.99 @ Target
- I love the cut of the skirt. It flares from the hip and the wide waistband acts like a belt. The colors of the waistband are beautiful. The skirt should be worn with a shorter length top to avoid covering the colorblock design. The skirt is very flattering and feminine.
Purple Leaf Earrings:
- $0.99 @ Baras Thrift Store

- I love the big polka dots on this shirt. It reminds me of the level in Super Mario Bros. where everything is gigantic. The polka dots are bold, fun and eye-catching.
Gold Leaf Earrings
- $1.25 @ Aéropostale

Vintage Pink Elastic Belt with Gold Buckle:
- $1.25 @ Baras Thrift Store
- The ridges of the belt buckle match with the ridges of the leaf earrings. The belt gives the black and white outfit a dose of color. This belt can be added to any outfit to accentuate the waistline. I got a good bargain for this belt because similar ones are being sold on various vintage web stores and eBay for $8+. I bought 7 of these belts in varying colors and belt buckles all in one swoop. If something is cheap and cute, I can't help it.

I dragged Emil to the opening of the DDCLab store on Melrose. The store is spacious and the mannequins hang from the ceiling. The clothing looked like futuristic combat uniforms. The line uses a unique combination of fabrics from silk/rubber to raw leather/poplin. The clothes look and felt like they would be uncomfortable to wear, but the designs are rebellious and wild which puts it at the forefront of cutting edge fashion.
My favorite item at the store was not an article of clothing, but a plate. I love the yellow of the dress. I want the entire set.
Celeb sightings: Bijou Phillips boogying down with Perez Hilton and DJ Samantha Ronson in a sophisticated yet sexy vest/slack set and Shannon Elizabeth.
In the gift bag: DDCLab mini water of bottle, DDCLab 'Into the Stratosphere' Runway Show DVD, DDCLab 15% off coupon, 944 Magazine, and a long-sleeve DDCLab shirt. They were also giving out PF Flyers in the VIP bag, but I didn't get one. Emil was very upset about that.

daily outfitting: neon signs
Xhilaration Striped Tunic Tee in Heather Grey/Indigo Blue:
- $8.99 @ Target
- The cut of this shirt is very flattering. The cap sleeves are cute and the longer length makes the shirt wearable with anything. I think the grey/blue stripes are bold colors, but standout in a muted sense. The shirt is not too tight or too loose and can be dressed up with accessories or just worn alone.

Spring Street Pinstripe Vest:
- $14.99 @ TJ Maxx
- Thoeun actually picked out this vest at TJ Maxx and said, "This looks like your style. It's cute. I think vests are going to be big." This happened November of last year and what do you know, Mischa Barton starts wearing them on the O.C. Thoeun may not admit to it, but there's a little fashionista-quality that I've rubbed off on her (I tend to do that a lot). This vest is extremely versatile. The pinstripes make it a little formal, and the buttons and the color make it casual. The vest is best paired with basics.

I'm enjoying champagne and ice cream at a Baskin-Robbins ice cream party! (The colors of my shirt are like strawberry-banana ice cream!) When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised that a party was going down at my local BR in celebration of the new management. The party was complete with pizza, smoothie and shake samples, alcohol, a dance floor, disco ball, a DJ, and ice cream scooper parting gifts. I think parties are stalking me! Only in LA...

Old Navy 3/4 Sleeve Black Button-Up Shirt:
- $9.00 @ Old Navy Outlet
- A basic black button-up is a simple wardrobe item that can be worn in numerous ways. Think of it as one of those shirts in the magazines where they use the same shirt for five very different outfits. I bought this at the Tanger Outlet Center in Barstow for such a good price! Yah!
Old Navy Black Bermuda Shorts:

- Another great steal from the outlet! These shorts are versatile. They can be dressed up or down. Black matches with everything and it's slimming.
Angel Wings Necklace:

Forever 21 Knee Length Halter Striped Dress in Cream and Jade:
- $27.99 @ Forever 21
- I don't usually shop at Forever 21, unless it's the one in Union Square SF. I'm not sure why that's the only Forever 21 I shop at. Maybe it's because I get caught up in the crowdedness and Thoeun's influence. This has to be the most comfortable dress ever! There's padding, so I don't even have to wear a bra with it. I wore this dress to Vegas during Memorial weekend because I think it's the perfect cotton dress to show off my tan. I like the pattern of the stripes and the beads on the straps. The skirt gets wrinkled easily, but after machine washing it on delicate cycle and hanging it to dry it straightened out pretty well. I also bought the same skirt in the purple color.
Spiral Necklace:
- Free from Original Trends Gift Bag
- The colors of this necklace matches perfectly with this outfit. The design is pretty unusual and abstract. I probably wouldn't buy this necklace.
Mossimo Black Diego Flats:

daily outfitting: tom cruise would approve
Striped Dress:
- $1 @ The Christian Closet
- The stitching and the quality of this dress leads me to believe that it was handmade. I like the colors and the print on the fabric. The colors are subdued and besides the stripes print there are large light yellow flowers on the side of the dress. The dress is pretty big on me, but with a belt it fits comfortably. I think it's a fun, casual dress and for one dollar it's a great bargain.

Brown Leather Purse:
- $0.10 @ The Christian Closet
- I bought this purse for $0.60, but I found two quarters inside. Score! The purse is in excellent condition. I like how it has tons of pockets.
Xhilaration Ariane White Woven Flats:
- $18.99 @ Target
- I always wanted a pair of white flats. These look really cute, but I have to wear them with a band-aid because the edge rubs against the back of my ankle and hurts. I don't recommend these for walking. I'm sure they will be better once I break them in some more.
May 20th was the best super-duper fun Saturdays I've had in a long while.
We started the day in Culver City at the Museum of Design Art and Architecture where we attended the Original Trends fashion and lifestyle event. There were a few unique vendors, but also lots of crappy, tacky vendors.
I didn't buy anything, but Sweta and I got some neat ideas for DIY projects. One day we are totally going to make wrist sash watches! The gift bag was filled with pretty random items (and was supposedly worth $180, but I highly doubt that): Adore Shop magazine, LA.com Cosmo Deck ($15 Gift Cards @ 52 of LA's Best Restaurants), Moodivations bath tea, bag of cheap makeup, Spongelle body wash infused sponge, Chantilly Baby cookies, a necklace, mini containers of bath body polish, bright pink soap in odd shapes, and a few useless gift cards. The event was way over-hyped. Even the food and drinks ran out before we got there! I'm glad I got all five of us in VIP ($30 value) for free.
The second shopping event we went to was Hollywood Shop 'Til You Drop. I was again disappointed. The stuff sold here was worse than at Original Trends. They had very low-quality entertainment and unrecongnizable celebs. The manicure and massage area looked infection-prone, so we stayed far, far away. We left within the first 10 minutes. The organizer of the event is supposed to send me a gift bag, but I have yet to receive it. I don't expect much from it though, but you never know. Besides, free always makes things seem that much nicer. The only good thing about this event was where it was held: The Scientology Celebrity Centre. After we left the lame event, we strolled around the center.
I kind of expected the place to be more glamorous and fancy, but it's not everyday where you get to stroll the premises of Tom Cruise's beloved religion. We snapped a few pictures and were on our way to West Hollywood for lunch then swimming at my apt.
Saturdays are best spent in the company of Liz, Sweta, and my baby cousins Allen and Andy (who are not really babies anymore, but will always be babies to me).
