outfitting: christmas day at the bahia

H&M Button-Up Dress Shirt:
- $24.90 @ H&M
- This piece is a wardrobe staple. It's basic, so it can be dressed up or down with many ways to wear it. I wanted this shirt to be a little loose, so it can be layered over shirts and worn very casually.

George Tweed Vest:
- @ Wal-Mart
- I think this vest is ideally for a polished office look, but if worn unbuttoned and with the back buckle undone, it can be very street casual and fun. The best thing about vests is that they can be worn in with so many different combinations.

Ezekiel Cassandra Dark Indigo Jeans:
- From the Dean
- See Rockin' Dior Like Dad

Bongo Silver Sequined Shoes:
- $14.99 @ T.J. Maxx
- These shoes, which I also bought in black, have become my favorite-wear-all-the-time shoes. They're comfortable and I love the sparkle!

Ellen Tracy Black Neutral Territory Handbag:
- $99.99 @ Marshalls
- See Seenon.com Launch Party, December Nights in San Diego, Marching with Penguins, Surprise at Shakey's, Birds, Birds, Birds Everywhere and Pretty Badass Princess Skulls

On Christmas Day we had brunch with Emil's family at the Bahia Hotel Buffet. The food was plenty and I got pretty full, pretty quick. Then we strolled around the hotel checking out the seals and then boarded the Bahia Belle for a swing around the bay. The boat ride was relaxing and I took a nap on one of the benches on the deck with the warm sun shining on me. Food, sun and Christmas: what more can you ask for?

outfitting: merry christmas!

H&M Black Strapless Dress w/ Bow Belt:
- $39.90 @ H&M
- The tulip shape of the dress' bottom half and the bow belt makes me look slimmer, where my waist is cinched to give off an hour glass figure. Can't be that! The dress can be worn with other belts or even with a shirt or tee underneath for a more casual look. Worn as is, this dress is perfect for our black and white Christmas!

"Passions" Crane Couture Silver Hoops w/ Crystals:
- From SeenOn.com Gift Bag
- See MTV Holiday Party and SeenOn.com Launch Party

A Merry, Merry Christmas

Our family always does a color themed Christmas. Last year it was blue and this year it was supposed to be pink, but we had a hard time looking for pink ornaments. When we saw the silver and black penguin ornaments at Target, we knew we had to have a black and white Christmas tree. Besides the penguins, I also love the feathered bird ornaments. I even saw a similar black and white tree in Wilhelmina's office on "Ugly Betty." See, it's only good enough for the Nguyens, if it's good enough for Mode.

With the exception of Megan, we're all wearing H&M dresses. That's what happens when they an H&M is close to my apartment. Everyone who celebrated Christmas Eve and Christmas morning adhered to our black and white rule! After midnight mass and opening up all the presents, we made graham cracker houses. Seriously, our Christmas will always be better than yours!

outfitting: mtv holiday party

Behnaz Sarafpour Black Tee with Jewel Applique:
- $19.99 @ Target
- The white version of this shirt looked very bedazzler-like, but I adore this black one. I especially like the green against the black, which makes a big difference because it's the pink and purple jewels that make the white version ugly. Bejeweled clothing and accessories are the next big thing! I want to make a lace headband with big jewels in warm tones. DIY project yah!

Behnaz Sarafpour Granite Brocade Skirt:
- $39.99 @ Target
- I love the shape of this skirt. The pleating gives it a feminine tulip shape that cinches the waist and gives you that hourglass figure. Brocade is classic and the perfect fabric for the holidays. The silvery granite color makes the brocade a little more futuristic and modern.

Xhilaration Ebony Leggings:
- $5.99 @ Target
- I'm still a big fan of leggings despite its recent drop in popularity. Even though these aren't hemmed, they don't curl up and they still look fine after washing.

"Passions" Crane Couture Silver Hoops with Crystals:
- From SeenOn.com Gift Bag
- I don't know what I ever did without these hot earrings. The hoops aren't too big and the crystals are just the right amount of shine. Plus, it's created by a fictional soap opera family!
- See SeenOn.com Launch Party

Cluster of Crystals Ring:
- @ Wal-Mart
- Wearing this ring is like having a disco ball on your finger. Love it!

Vintage Anne Klein for Calderon Black Patent Leather Clutch:
- $0.25 @ Holy Family Bazaar
- See Gen Art's Fresh Faces in Fashion, Yo-ho! Yo-ho! A Pirate's Life for Me, Party to the Xtreme and Donna Graduates

Marc Fisher Black Patent MFedie Platforms:
- $53.40 @ Macy's
- I fell in love with these sky-high shoes at first sight. I think the contrast of the black patent and the wood wedge is quite unique. I have to admit that these aren't the most comfortable shoes, but when you're tipsy you apparently can't feel. I'm actually surprised I never fell wearing them yet.

The best way to celebrate the end of something is with a party! The MTV holiday shindig at Boulevard 3 was definitely the party to cap off 2.5 years at my first real job. The food was yum, the champagne was plentiful, the music was great and the people were even better! I'm going to miss everyone!

Shake it like a polaroid picture!

Paul & Joe Chunky Cable Cashmere Poncho:
- $39.99 @ Target
- This capelet is not exactly the most practical item, but I think it's adorable and chic. It's difficult to wear because it doesn't really keep you warm and you'd look silly if you wore it out on a warm day.
- See Right on Target with Paul & Joe

Free People Friendly Owl Long Sleeve Top:
- $46.00 @ Macy's
- I love the owl print and minty green color of this top. The cotton pointelle fabric is super soft and the allover orange topstitching is a bold detail.

- Free from Express Design Studio Fashion Show

I dragged Thoeun to TV Guide's SeenOn.com Launch Party at Boulevard 3 last night. SeenOn.com is the site that lets you buy stuff you see on TV. Boulevard 3 is a really nice two-story venue. For this particular event, the nightclub had mini set recreations from TV shows. There was an "Ugly Betty" photo shoot area complete with a Betty, a "Las Vegas" blackjack table, a "Project Runway" studio, a "Grey's Anatomy" bar and a "Desperate Housewives" Wisteria Lane front yard with a gardener (I'm pretty sure this was played by one of those guys from "Real World") and a bedroom scene with a housewife lounging around in a robe. I didn't try the food because it didn't look very appetizing with the TV dinner theme of tiny trays of mac and cheese, tatertots and brownies. The party was filled with reality TV folks, from top models to fashion designers. Even the kids from "Laguna Beach" were out in full force.

Inside the swag bag:
- Tupperware Sheerly Elegant Flute set
- "The Little Engine That Could" book
- "Desperate Housewives" apple mug
- Benjamin Moore Paint samples
- mini Flor de Cana Rum bottles
- Hall and Oates "Home for Christmas" CD
- Foot Solutions Hydro Gel Body Lotion & Odor Relief Cream
- issue of TV Guide magazine
- "Passions" Crane Couture Jewelry: black dangle earrings, gold hoops and silver hoops with crystals
- three "Project Runway" designer t-shirts.

outfitting: december nights in san diego

XOXO Black Knit Blazer:
- @ Nordstrom
- I've had this blazer for a long time. It's basic and comfortable, but I can do without the pink lining on the inside now that it's become wrinkly from all the washes. I need a new black blazer, probably something less casual, more fitted and sophisticated.

Behnaz Sarafpour Gold Silk Ruffled Blouse:
- $39.99 @ Target
- A lot of people think this long-sleeve shirt looks "old," but I love the warm gold color and the ultra-feminine fabric.

Old Navy Black Bermuda Shorts:
- $11.00 @ Old Navy Outlet
- See Team Aniston

Ellen Tracy Black Neutral Territory Handbag:
- $99.99 @ Marshalls
- See Marching with Penguins, Surprise at Shakey's, Birds, Birds, Birds Everywhere and Pretty Badass Princess Skulls

Payless Fioni Black Suede Slouchy Flat Boots:
- $34.99 @ Payless
- I bought these boots after I saw how good they looked on Amy. I love that they're flats! The boots look good with everything: jeans, tights, shorts, skirts.

The entire city of San Diego flocked to Balboa Park for the annual December Nights celebration. The traffic towards downtown was bumper-to-bumper horrible and the parking was even worse. Emil drove separately and gave up on looking for a spot and headed home. We parked at the McDonald's across from my old high school and trekked to the park.

There were tons of food booths selling all kinds of yummies. I wanted funnel cake, but the line was way too long. Instead we all shared kettle corn, hot cider, caramel apple wedges and chili in a bowl. Our family enjoys food! A few of the museums were opened with free admission. We took Britannia to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. We didn't stay long because the swarms of people made the place stuffy and smelly, two things that I dislike.

outfitting: the thanksgiving kids' table

Paul & Joe Short Sleeve Pintuck Shirt:
- $19.99 @ Target
- See Officially An Angeleno

Gold Bird Earrings with Chaindrops:
- $6.99 @ Urban Outfitters
- I'm still ga-ga over the bird motif in jewelry. Besides I'm a sucker for cheap accessories.

Behnaz Sarafpour Ebony Velvet Mini Dress:
- $39.99 @ Target
- I feel like a little girl in this dress (maybe because Amy made Britney's Thanksgiving dress in the same doll-like cut). The velvet fabric gives the dress a fancy, formal look, while the short, short length tones it down. Behnaz Sarafpour's Target collection is perfect for Holiday parties and winter work ensembles. I think this mass-market collection reflected her runway looks greatly. I like the sleek color palettes and the ultra-feminine detailing of her clothing. I didn't care much for the items with lace trimming though. Although I was thinking about buying the lace print duffel bag. I much preferred the print over actual lace, but the bag was bigger than I expected and I decided that I probably won't have much use for it.

Payless "Koincidence" Oxford Bone Lace-Up Shoes:
- Originally $19.99, with BOGO deal: $9.99 @ Payless
- See V&R Ties the Knot with H&M

Thanksgiving with just the kids was pretty fun. Our family is backwards, usually it's the parents who want to sit down together and have a nice dinner while the kids just want to go and do their own thing with their friends. Unfortunately, my dad still has to work on Thanksgiving and the other grown-ups had their own plans. We wanted to celebrate Thanksgiving regardless, so Amy went all out this year. She cooked a ton of food (yum: our turkey was wrapped in bacon!) and handmade the table cloth and napkins. We all got dressed up and proceeded to stuff ourselves.

The fun didn't end there. We awoke in the darkness this morning to wait in a massive line outside of Wal-Mart for Black Friday. The entire day was spent amongst crazed shoppers and waiting in ridiculously long lines. Must sleep now before I die.

11.16.2006

outfitting: lusting over robin thicke

Ezekiel Corduroy Blazer:
- From the Dean
- Goodies from Dean have never disappointed me. This blazer is no different. It garners tons of compliments. I love the all-over heart and flower print and the 3/4 sleeves. The best part is that the fit is great.

Robin Thicke Rocks!

I'm cheesin' because I'm actually touching Robin Thicke and minutes before he was serenading me. Of course he was singing to a full room of fawning women, but let's just ignore that minor detail for now. Mr. Lost Without You looked into my eyes and told me he wanted to love me. How am I supposed to say "No" to someone as sexy and charming as Robin Thicke? I was completely infatuated!

During his performance, he tripped over the cords as he was getting up from the keyboard. It was pretty funny and could've been mighty embarrassing for him, but everyone laughed it off because Robin Thicke is that hot.

Later on in the day we went to the Graffiti Pink launch party at the Glass Garage in West Hollywood. The Glass Garage is a small fine art gallery, so party goers were packed inside. Graffiti Pink is an online boutique that sells designer lingerie and Disney Couture and CC Skye jewelry. The lingerie isn't all that great, but both jewelry lines are super cute.

Waitresses wore skimpy pink lingerie as they passed out HER energy drinks and pink vodka concoctions. Even the cheese was dyed a pink shade. Despite the strange color, the cheese was delicious. Best cheese I've ever eaten!

The celebrity factor at the party was a zero, but the Korean girl from Real World: San Diego is one of the brand's models and was mingling with a bunch of people at the front of the gallery.

In the gift bag: Graffiti Pink tank, Urban Decay lip gloss, powdered cookies, Axel eyeglass frames, Sweet Spot On-The-Go wipettes, Healthy Sexy Hair Pumpkin Enzyme Therapy Mist leave in conditioner and a sample of Miss Marisa by Ebba tropical perfume.

After we grabbed our goodie bags, we headed over to Jerry's Famous Deli for yummy buffalo hot wings and the best curry chicken salad. Parked across from the restaurant was Robin Thicke's tour bus! Seriously, who's obsessed who? I swear he's in love with me!

taking fashion to the streets, literally

I did it! I spent last night on a freezing, hard sidewalk for the opening of the H&M store at the Beverly Center and for the launch of the Viktor & Rolf collection.

I knew that I would be too busy pushing and shoving, I mean shopping, to take pictures so I didn't bring a camera. But now I'm kind of regretting it. I vaguely remember this photographer guy from AP snapping pictures of me grabbing clothes off the racks and Emil with a huge pile of clothes in his hands standing next to Frankie Muniz.

The sleepover experience was fun and despite the all night construction of the escalator overhead and the sheer coldness. In the morning, I made new friends and we talked fashion all morning long.

Once inside the store, I went straight for the V&R goodies. I had a process: grab as much V&R in my size as quickly as possible, hand the clothes off to Emil, find an uninhabited spot in the store and try on the clothes (no long fitting room lines for me!) over my tank and yoga pants (yes, I was prepared!). I walked out of the store with shopping bags teeming with V&R. I didn't even bother to peruse the rest of the store.

Emil and I got a ton of H&M freebies: an umbrella, t-shirts, key chains, totes, a mini-sewing kit, perfume samples and gift cards (for being the 40th and 41st people in line). I can't wait to wear all my V&R stuff, but right now I'm exhausted...

outfitting: marching with penguins

Aéropostale Gray Polo:
- $5.35 @ Aéropostale
- I grabbed this polo off the rack right away because it's cheap, is a simple and basic wardrobe necessity, and one of the few things at Aéropostale without the butterfly or monkey head logo.

Tartan Wrap-Skirt:
- $3.99 @ Thank You Mart
- I bought this skirt late summer, knowing that the colder season would be the best time for tartan because of the thick fabric texture. I think plaid/tartan is an easy print to combine with solid clothing items, but it's also easy to go overboard and veer towards tackiness with too much contrasting plaid prints and colors.

Sweet Tart Black Leggings:
- @ Mervyn's
- Black leggings are comfortable and is a great covering option to keep your legs warm or cover unshaven legs. Every store carries black leggings, so they're incredibly affordable.

Behnaz Sarafpour NYC Gold Charm Necklace:
- $16.99 @ Target
- I think the Target Go Collections just keep getting better and better. I love Behnaz Sarafpour's holiday-inspired Target line. As usual, I went a little nuts at Target when Behnaz Sarafpour became available, but what's new? This necklace is by far one of the better jewelry pieces of the Go Collection. The chain is thick and there are a bunch of NYC-themed charms: a taxi, pretzel, pizza, subway token, apple, walk/don't walk sign, whistle, the happy/sad theatre masks, and the letters N-Y-C. There's also a matching bracelet, but I plan on just twisting the necklace around my wrist a couple of times to wear it as a bracelet.

The Original Penguin Store opening in West Hollywood last night turned out to be quite a party: tons of celebs, a live concert by Ringside, Brent Bolthouse deejaying, open bar, little snacks and great clothes.

The employees were busily helping Chris Kattan and Kato Kaelin shop until the arrival of Paris Hilton. The two guys were pushed aside and forgotten while Paris Hilton's arrival was made into a big commotion. Once inside the store, she must've checked herself out in the mirror at least 50 times. She sashayed her way throughout the women's section and any item she was remotely interested in was promptly taken to the register counter and stuffed in shopping bags. The bathroom line was ridiculously long, so Paris told her entourage that she wanted to leave because she didn't want to wait in the line. But to her credit, she refused to cut unlike Haylie Duff and Stacy Keibler who bum rushed the bathroom claiming that they had an emergency. Everyone in line was pissed. When Paris Hilton has more courtesy than you, that's bad.

Ringside performed behind the store, where we bumped into Lindsay Lohan. Emil was excited to rub elbows with her. I thought she looked great minus the nasty bandages she had around her wrists. I assumed she had snuck through the back and was trying to dodge the photogs. Thora Birch was rocking out to the band. She totally has a crush on Scott Thomas.

Back inside the store we spotted Miss J from ANTM (surprisingly, he’s less feminine than on TV), Jason Biggs (looking slimmer than I expected), Pete Wentz (flashing his signature crooked smile) and David Arquette (without Courteney Cox) mingling and shopping.

My favorite, although short-lived, sighting was of Benjamin McKenzie. He was with a buddy in the far corner of the store. He had one beer and left. I was sad that I didn’t get a chance to take a photo with him.

After Emil had a bad run-in with bacon and cantaloupe (I always, always ask the waiter what the food is before stuffing it into my mouth!), we headed home.

The Lion, the Witch & the Vampire: Costume Breakdown

My cousin, the scary-lookin' Vampire (aka Amy), made my Chronicles of Narnia Snow Witch dress and shawl. I bought the fabric for about $6 at the swap meet and the fur was left over from one of her previous projects.

I got the crown from Wal-Mart for $2 and spray painted it white. I bought the icicle garland trimming from Michaels for $2 and used wire to attach it to the crown.

My earrings are actually snowflake Christmas ornaments I got at Joe's 99¢ Store. Turning ornaments into earrings are simple, just add earring hooks.

I bought the clear plastic heels from Wal-Mart for $5.

Emil's lion head and tail comes from a damaged kid's costume I found at Wal-Mart for $3.

Amy made her entire costume from scratch, except for her boots, custom-made vampire teeth and freaky contact lenses.

10.28.2006

outfitting: v&r ties the knot with h&m

Free People Silk Jumper:
- $118.00 @ Macy's
- I love the detailing of this dress most. The gold and magenta blossom print and the brown piping are eye-catching and the brass buttons and front flap pockets give it a "Home Sweet Home" effect. The dress is cut almost like a cooking apron. I've actually been searching for an actual apron. There are adorably stylish ones at Kitsch'n Glam, but they're a bit pricey for aprons.

Ellemeno Brown Tunic:
- $3.48 @ Mervyn's
- If worn alone this top may look a bit hippie, but it's good for layering.

A&F Brown Leggings:
- @ Abercrombie & Fitch
- I bought these at A&F during the Christmas 2002 season when Heidi Klum was the quarterly's centerfold. That was when I first started to wear leggings and people thought I dressed oddly.

Payless "Koincidence" Oxford Bone Lace-Up Shoes:
- Originally $19.99, with BOGO deal: $9.99 @ Payless
- I headed over to Payless to check out the Abaeté collection and just as Geraldine had said, it was pretty disappointing and not pretty at all (The Winter collection is looking good so far. I want the Xavier cocktail ankle boots! I still have faith!). My visit to Payless was not all in vain though, because I bought a pair of flat suede boots and these Victorian-inspired tailored oxford heels. I love the lace-up bootie style and the best part is the great support!

Xhilaration Ivory Fold Clutch:
- $12.99 @ Target
- Why it's an oxymoron, a giant coin purse. Wait, I did use that term correctly right?

The Wedding Celebration for the Marriage of Viktor & Rolf with H&M:

I was super excited about this back in May. Imagine how I feel now....

A white carpet strewed with petals wrapped around a centerpiece fountain. Photographers and reporters stood on the edge of the carpet. In between celebrity arrivals, press was actually fed served sandwiches, salad, pasta and cookies. Never before have I seen press treated this well by a PR company. Kudos to bluPRint!

The multiple story mansion entry was flanked with large vases filled with white roses. Guests were led through the hallway all the way to the mansion's backyard, where the party was held.

I thought this champagne tower was pretty impressive. I remember trying to build my own champagne tower at a New Year's Eve party a few years ago. My tower wasn't as tall, the flutes were plastic and champagne spilled everywhere, but I don't think anyone cared because it was the New Year and we were all tipsy.

A flat screen TV above a fireplace aired the Viktor & Rolf for H&M commercial on rotation. Viktor Horsting and Rolf Snoeren along with their campaign model, Raquel Zimmerman, stood upon a flower-adorned platform above the pool to greet their guests as they entered the party.

Zimmerman modeled an exclusive wedding gown from the collection, which will retail for under $400. The dress looked great on the model, but not everyone can pull off wearing a gown with a large floppy bow.

Beethoven, Madonna's "Like a Virgin," and Beyoncé's "Crazy in Love" were amongst the variety of songs the nine piece orchestra played throughout the night.

Underneath the white pleated silk tent and giant chandeliers, there was a four-tiered wedding cake complete with a grooms and bride topper. The cake was the perfect backdrop for the runway show.

I thought the runway show was a huge success. The clothes looked great and the models looked like they were having fun. The guys were all clones of Viktor & Rolf and sporting cheesy smiles. But of course the stars of the night were the Dutch design duo. I thought V&R looked awfully adorable up on that runway. It's me taking photos and Emil admiring the snazzy outfits.

The fashion show ended in a flurry of white linen petals blown over the crowd like snowfall.

White-gloved waiters began to cut the giant cake as the few petals fell to the ground. I skipped the cake because I was already on a sugar high from all the passed desserts I nibbled on throughout the evening.

This was one of the most extravagant weddings (albeit fake) I've ever attended. I had a really good time!

The star-studded guest list:
- Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen
- Kanye West
- Owen Wilson
- Christina Milian
- Carmen Electra
- Chloe Sevigny
- Mia Maestro
- Reggie Miller
- Alison Lohman

- Pete Wentz

day 5 with kelly nishimoto

I didn't get to attend as many shows as I had planned to on the last day of LA Fashion Week. The lousy traffic made us miss Yana K. and after Kelly Nishimoto, we were too tired to wait around for Kevan Hall. I spotted Samaire Armstrong in a green chiffon dress with her pixie do slicked back.

The Kelly Nishimoto show was held in the very small Lightbox tent, so the hoards of people packed into the vicinity were all breaking fire safety codes. It's a relief that runway shows are only about 10 to 15 minutes long, because it started to feel like a sweaty nightclub inside the tent.

Kelly Nishimoto's spring collection consisted mainly of flirty, feminine dresses. The fabric choices were girly too. There were tons of silk and satin, velvet details, flower and bird prints, bow trimmings, and soft jersey. A few of the pieces looked like they could be pajamas.

The looks I liked most was an Asian-inspired printed jumper with floppy red ribbons, the two baby doll dresses in a brocade blue fabric and cotton candy pink satin, and a lilac cotton gown with velvet ribbons.

In the gift bag:
- Paula Radke Dichroic Glass Pendant
- Upshot Mocha Energy Shot
- Fall 2006 issue of Item Magazine

10.18.2006

day 2 with single

During my lunch break on the second day (10/16) of LA Fashion Week, Emil and I attended the Single designed by Galina Sobolev show. Smashbox was pretty crowded even though it was only one in the afternoon and people were already flocking towards the free alcohol. While we were waiting in line, I spotted creepy-"It just got me off"-Vincent from Project Runway. If it was any other Project Runway designer, I would've rushed over for a photo-op, but Vincent, in the words of Catherine Malandrino, is just "No...no, no, no."

The show had a really cool soundtrack with California-themed songs and the gift bag was filled with lots of useful goodies, but the clothing was boring. The collection consisted mostly of unoriginal, printed, flowing dresses. I did like the mosaic stained glass print that was used in a couple of the dresses. I also liked the white linen cocktail dress because of its simplicity. A crowd favorite was the black dress with pockets and the crisscross back.

In the gift bag:
- "Happiness is Being Single" Tee
- Single Candle
- Color Club Nail Polish
- M.A.C. Cosmetics: lipglass in Factory Made, tinted lip conditioner stick, fluidline eye-liner gel in Nightfish, eye shadow in Idol Eyes and Black Tied
- Marilyn Ninyos Round Hair Brushes
- Chaé Organics Skincare Kit and Body Butter
- Blowfish Sushi Restaurant Gift Cards
- Unite Eurotherapy Hair Products
- 95 and Sunny Swarovski Crystal Glass Manicure Files

outfitting: day 1 with evisu

Rene Kasmer Flower Print Pink Dress:
- $1.00 @ Holy Family Christian Closet
- Thoeun calls this the "Chinese Mail Order Bride" dress, but such a description makes me love it more! The dress actually goes a little pass my knees, but I pinned it up to make it shorter and so that I can show off my white leggings. I love the dress' versatility, the bright colors and the light, satin-like fabric.

White Leggings:
- $7.99 @ Marshalls
- Taking a cue from Rachel Zoe, I accessorized a printed summer dress with leggings. I got a lot of compliments on my white leggings in a sea of black ones, especially because I wore them over the ball of my foot so they kind of looked like stir-ups.

White Patent Leather Clutch:
- $2.00 @ Baras Thrift Store
- See YMI Royalty Fashion Show

Turquoise Plastic Hoop Earrings:
- $1.99 @ Urban Outfitters
- See Project Santino

Seychelles She's Back Turquoise Leather Sandals:
- $25.99 @ Marshalls
- I'll have a better picture in future posts where you can actually see these heels. The color and they style give off an 80's retro vibe. The heel isn't too high which is good, but the straps lost its support after a few wears so the sandals have a loose fit now.

I wanted to head to the first day of LA Fashion Week early this morning (Sunday), but things came up and I didn't meet up with John until seven o'clock. I came just in time to catch the Evisu show.

The Evisu show opened up with two musicians banging on Japanese drums against an urban Tokyo skyline backdrop and then a shirtless male model came down the runway in slouchy jeans and carrying denim blocks that spelled out E-V-I-S-U. The collection is a blend of premium denim, funky fits and Japanese silk.

My favorites were the starch white trench with matching gloves and the black denim twisted halter dress. The audience cheered at the sight of a Samurai headdress and the flowing silk Kimono top that closed the show.

Inside the small red gift bag, which reminded me of the ly sy envelopes we get during Vietnamese New Year, there was an Evisu catalog and two bottles of deluxe Evisu body wash (Rock and Forever). I also got a free sample of Smashbox eye shadow from the nice girl at the photo booth.

The Smashbox photo booth has to be the best thing ever! I love it! I take at least half a dozen photo strips each time. John thinks I'm nuts, but I know he enjoys it as much as I do. I'm not denying that I'm a picture-whore! The first step is admitting you have a problem...

During the show I spotted Rex Lee across the runway in the front row. Why does this man go to as many fashion shows as me?

Dr. Torres from "Grey's Anatomy" looks hot with straight hair.
